The developers have never used the word "karaoke" to describe the game. I recommed changing the use of "competitive karaoke game" to "competitive music video game".

When I tried to edit this to the page i broke the table, so someone please go ahead and add that. There are two Swedish Singstar games, one called only Svenska Hits and one called Svenska Hits Schlager. He also said the official tracklist for the Singstar 90s US (which is different than the UK version), and announced that PS2 will recieve numerous US releases this year, including SingStar Pop Volume 2.
